Limited English Proficiency Plan

Title VI- Promotion of Inclusive Public Participation

Northern Oklahoma Development Authority DBA Cherokee Strip Transit utilizes the following activities to promote public participation in our transportation project: publishing legal notices in the newspapers in our service areas locations notifying the public of our project; holding open forum meetings for the public and community input into the transportation plan by posting flyers on specifics of time and place, utilizing the municipal cable television station bulletin boards (where available) explaining the project and encouraging their input with the specifics of time and place of forum- flyers inviting the public to the forum along with information about our services are posted around the community-(municipal offices, local convenience stores, banks, libraries, and etc.) trying to make effort to involve minority and LEP population; also pamphlets and brochures are placed in locations thru out our service areas-County Health Departments, County DHS offices, libraries, doctors’ offices, and senior centers. These pamphlets give information such as: office locations and contact telephone numbers, service hours, procedure on how to utilize the service and the TDD number is listed for assistive calls.
