No one wants to talk about the potential for disaster but, for the sustainability of an economy, community, and people, preparedness could mean the difference between weathering the storm and losing everything. The biggest threat to the sustainability of NODA’s regional economy is natural disasters, but there are man-made threats as well – loss of a major employer or a decline in a key industry. The National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) has developed a short video to help explain resilience and the importance of resilience planning for all communties.
